Traffic chaos continues unabated

Published March 4, 2018 Updated March 4, 2018 12:00am

The traffic disorder nuisance has grown to an alarming point which can be seen on every road of city where drivers violate traffic rules under the nose of traffic police personnel. Deputy Inspector General (Traffic) has issued several warnings to take action against traffic violators but neither subordinate police officials nor the traffic violators take these warnings serious.
It has also been observed that traffic police high ups don't bother taking round of the city to keep eyes on subordinates' performance. Untrained and under age fearless drivers ruthlessly drive on the streets and roads of city ignoring traffic rules.
It has become a normal practice for the drivers of cars, rickshaws, motorcycles, trucks to break the one-way traffic rule and going on the wrong side of road thus creating a traffic hazard and even traffic police officials can be seen supporting them by making way for them and not taking action. Police high-ups always complain about shortage of manpower ignoring the fact that present workforce is not performing its duty honestly.
