IT event held at PAF-KIET

A four-day IT event titled "ComBat'18- The Computing Battle" was concluded at Pakistan Air Force Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology (PAF-KIET) at its North Nazimabad Campus, here on Monday. The event featured 22 competitions related to software engineering, computer networks, databases, web and mobile applications, graphic designing, and electronics. The aim of the event was to bring out the abilities of the students and to foster their expertise in the field of IT and related disciplines.
More than 1,000 students from all major universities, including Institute of Business Administration, University of Karachi, Bahria University, Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, DHA Suffa University and Mehran University (Jamshoro), participated in the event.
Owais Rabbani, president of Youth Parliament and Director General of Reborn Training & Services, spoke as the chief guest of the Combat'18 where he lauded the efforts of students for organizing this event and making it a huge success. He asserted such events help students shape their ideas into reality by getting in touch with industry professionals.
Talking to media personnel, lead organizer of the event, Shah Muhammad Emad, highlighted importance of holding IT related events. "PAF-KIET has been successfully holding this computing battle for nine years and students are acquiring a great deal of technical training and professional development through it," he said.
The event Combat'18 brought some new version of competitions to test logical, interactive, innovative, creative and mathematical skills of the students.
The list of events included Speed Programming, Algomania, Predictive Analysis, Network Design, UI/UX Web Design, Database Design, Innovative Business Idea, etc. The event also comprised two guest speaking sessions on "Ethical Hacking" and "The Role of Women in Tech," conducted by Ali Tabish and Hira Saeed, respectively.
