General Secretary, Awami National Party (ANP), Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Monday said that main reason behind Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project Peshawar is to earn kickbacks and its completion is beyond the capabilities of PTI-led provincial government. Addressing at a ceremony to welcome new party entrants at Pabbi in his home district, Nowshera, he said that people of the province were being deceived by misleading slogans and nothing important has been delivered to people who voted PTI in power.
He said that is astonishing that those who issued critique against metro project of Punjab have started the same scheme for their commission in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Mian Iftikhar said that despite fighting the menace of militancy provincial exchequer was brimming when ANP left power but on the contrary KP province is facing huge debt of Rs 300 billion during four and a half year tenure of PTI. He said that provincial government has misused provincial resources for their own benefits. He said that ANP lost hundreds of workers in fight against militancy and rendered matchless sacrifices for the noble cause.
The ANP stalwart said that Chinese ambassador had also appreciated role of ANP for peace and also assured that rightful share would be given to Pakhtuns in western corridor.
