The profit after tax of Mari Petroleum Company has increased to Rs 3.202 billion in the quarter ended December 31, 2017 as compared to Rs 1.846 billion earned in the corresponding period in 2016. The company's earning per share surged to Rs 29.05 in the period under review against Rs 16.75 in the same period a year back while distributable earning per share stood at Rs 1.55 in this period against Rs 1.43 in the same period in 2016.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Thursday at Islamabad recommended an interim cash dividend for the quarter at Rs 3.50 per share, ie 35 percent.
According to the financial results sent to Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 3.962 billion in this quarter against Rs 2.357 billion in the same period a year ago.
In the half year period ended December 31, 2017, the company's profit after tax increased to Rs 6.815 billion against Rs 1.612 billion earned in the same period in 2016.
