Chicago Board of Trade soft red winter wheat futures touched their lowest level in more than a week on Tuesday on technical selling, traders said. CBOT March wheat ended down 8-1/2 cents at $4.49-1/4 a bushel and traded as low as $4.49.
That was the lowest price for a most-active contract since February 9. Large global supplies continued to hang over the market, traders said. After the close of trading, Egypt's GASC tendered to buy wheat for shipment from March 22 to April 1.
