JUI-F Shoora, EC moots postponed

JUI-F's chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has postponed the scheduled meetings of Majlis-e-Shoora and executive committee (EC) in wake of Senate polls and mass contract campaign. This was told by the deputy general secretary, JUI-F Maulana Mohammad Amjad Khan while talking to the media. Those present on the occasion were Maulana Rashid, Khalid Mahmood Soomro, Maulana Sain Abdul Qayyum Halichvi, Agha Ayub, Qari Javed, Hafiz Zafar and others.
Maulana Mohammad Amjad Khan said that the meetings of Majlis-e-Shoora, which were scheduled on February 23, 2018 and two-day Central Council meeting on February 24, 25, 2018 at central office at Jamia Madina, Lahore have been postponed due to the Senate polls and mass contact movement in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces. He said that new dates for these meetings will be announced soon. He said that a meeting of the heads of the component political parties of Muthahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) would be convened shortly and final date in this connection would be announced in consultations with the leadership. During the said meeting, the religious-political alliance will also elect its office bearers.
To a question, he dispelled the impression of differences amongst the office bearers of MMA and said that JUI-F will participate in the upcoming general elections from the platform of the alliance to defeat secular lobby. Maulana Amjad said that under the mass contact movement JUI-F is going to hold Islam Zinda Bad (Long Live Islam) Conference in Hyderabad on February 28 and Mufti Mahmood Conference in Sargodha on February 22. The conferences will be addressed by JUI-F Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidery and other central and provincial level leaders.
