Sindh Tripartite Labour Policy 2018 announced

Sindh government has formally announced Sindh Tripartite Labour Policy 2018 here at a hurriedly-called press conference, here on Saturday. Addressing media persons, Senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that PPP is safeguarding the rights of the workers and raised voice for the oppressed people at all forum even in harder days of dictatorship rule.
He said the provincial government has announced the first ever Sindh Tripartite Labour Policy 2018 in letter and in spirit sense and said that it is the only party who fought for the poor of the country. He said, "The Sindh government has announced a comprehensive labour policy today to bring economic development and progress in the country as Sindh is an industrial hub and economic mega zone of the country". "If we had labour-friendly laws we could develop the industrial peace and progress in the province", he added.
He said the Sindh is taking historical steps towards the 14 labour laws, for which the labour department and its team must be appreciated. He also acknowledged the efforts of all stakeholders (Workers and employers), who gave a comprehensive, a strong and an industrial-friendly labour policy. It would not only protect the rights of industrial but agricultural, home based workers etc at large and allowed to make unions in the industrial units for further guard of their issues. The policy will help them to curb the gender discrimination. Earlier, Sindh Minister for Labour and Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has highlighted the salient features of 45 points labour policy. He said that PPP is only party which takes initiatives and positive steps towards the welfare and well-being of the every segment of society
He further said that within the required time period we would go for the necessary legislation to open up new era of development and make a history for our people. He thanked all the tripartite committee members and assured his full support for the benefits of the people of Sindh. ILO Country Director Ms Angrid Kristen, Representative of workers Habibuddin Junaidi, representatives of employers Majyd Aziz, Siraj Qasim Teli, said that the policy is made with consensus of all stakeholders, through six months day and night efforts.
They offered full co-operation and assistance in future to further boost the economic conditions of the country as well as the province's progress and prosperity.
