Punjab Additional Secretary for Agriculture (Task Force) Benish Fatima has advised the cotton growers to get updated on the schedule of cotton sowing given by the department in the province by virtue of which it cannot be cultivated before April 1.
Researchers are convinced that all residues of the crop that play host to the pest should be burnt (for cooking and heating) by the end of February. The stack of cotton sticks is continuing, for which the department comprising agriculture and other stakeholders are expected to accelerate the speed of their work so that the goals taken in joint chain of off-season management can be achieved, she said.
