The Lahore Press Club organised a condolence reference for Munnoo Bahi, a renowned Urdu columnist, journalist, poet, TV drama writer, philanthropist and a human rights activist on Friday. A good number of journalists, writers, TV artists, poets and representatives from Sundas Foundation attended the reference. Among the notables included Imtiaz Alam, Khalid Abbas Dar, Salman Ghani, Naveed Ch, Hamid Rana, Sheeba Hassan, Ameer-ul-Azeem, Baba Najmi and President of the Club Azam Ch.
Speakers paid glowing tributes to the multidimensional personality of Munnoo Bhai. They said Munnoo Bhai was always very concerned about the Sundas Foundation where some 6,000 children were fighting against Thalassemia. He was Chairman of the Foundation.
Poets recited poetry to honour Munnoo Bhai while many others shared their memories with him. Imtiaz Alam said Munnoo Bhai was a great human being. He used to preside over late night sittings of South Asia Free Media Association (SAFMA) where journalists from India and Pakistan used to exchange harsh exchange over bilateral issues.
It was only Munnoo Bhai who always brought the temperature of heated debates down through his mild remarks, he added. The President Lahore Press Club announced to mark his anniversary every year at the Club. He further announced of conferring Munnoo Bhai Award on young writers.
