The Met Office on Friday forecast widespread rain with snowfall across the upcountry, saying that downpour will benefit the Rabi crops. It said that a westerly wave is entering the country's western parts on Saturday, which is likely to grip upper and central parts on Sunday. Under the new weather system is likely to persist over Malakand and Gilgit-Baltistan intermittently for a few days, widespread rains with snowfall is expected in upcountry.
A light to moderate intensity of scattered rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Upper Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Sunday and Monday. Isolated rain-thunderstorm is expected in Quetta, Zhob, D G Khan, Multan, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur Divisions on Sunday. Snowfall is likely in Malakand and Hazara Divisions, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree and Galliyat during the period.

Temperature in Kalat and Kalam was minus 6 degrees Celsius, each, Gupis, Skardu and Astore minus 5, each, Gilgit minus 4, Dir and Parachinar, Bagrote, Rawalakot and Quetta minus 3, each.
