Ambassador of Pakistan to Maldives, Admiral Waseem Akram (retd) said that a Maldives trade delegation will visit Pakistan in last week of February or first week of March this year. Speaking at launch meeting hosted by former Vice President of FPCCI Mohammad Waseem Vohra, he said that he has already discussed Moldavians delegation visit with FPCCI. He said Maldives meets most of its needs through imports and this situation offers Pakistani businessmen a good opportunity of enhancing exports. He said that he will make all possible efforts to increase Pakistan trade with Maldives and establish joint ventures.
He said Pakistan exporting rice, cement and other goods through Dubai to Maldives. Efforts will be made to have direct trade between the two countries, he added Waseem Vohra said that Maldives is a member of SAARC and Muslim friendly country, having same religious and cultural values, trade between Pakistan & Maldives must be enhanced. He said that Pakistan can export its good to African countries through Maldives.
The meeting was attended by Shabnam Zafar, Saeeda Bano, Khalid Tawab, Gulzar Firoz, Dr Mirza Ikhtair Baig, Nadim Kushti Wala, Abdul Sami Khan, Ikram Rajput, Dr Rozi and others.
