In a recent decision made by Higher Education Minister, Syed Raza Ali Gillani, it is mandatory for students to maintain a minimum of 75 percent attendance to appear for board and university examinations. "Enforcing mandatory attendance will improve overall performance of the students, and will guarantee their satisfactory results" says the Minister.
For effective implementation of this decision, special monitoring teams are formed who will have the authority to check the attendance by physically visiting the colleges and universities. The committee will take action against those institutions where this practice is not followed.
