Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that all the teachings, tehsil and district hospitals across the province must ensure arrangements of prevention and treatment of seasonal flu (H1, N1).
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting on monitoring of seasonal flu in all districts of the Punjab. Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Najam Ahmed Shah, Secretary Primary & Secondary Healthcare Ali Jan Khan, Director General Healthcare Dr Akhtar Rasheed, officers of Health Department and MSs of the hospitals attended the meeting through video link.
On this occasion, the minister said that all the hospitals should launch awareness campaign for prevention of seasonal flu. He said that all district health authorities and medical superintendents of teaching hospitals should submit seasonal flu monitoring report on daily basis. He instructed that all doctors, nurses and hospital staff should adopt preventive measures during treatment of the patients so that the virus will not transfer to other people.
Salman Rafique directed all the MSs and CEOs to ensure the availability of Tamiflu in sufficient quantity for timely treatment of the patient.
