The city police have finalised a coordinated security plan to control hooliganism activities, especially one-wheelie and eve-teasing, during the forthcoming celebration of New Year night. According to Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Amin Wains, the Police department will deploy more than 12,000 security personnel in the provincial capital for the purpose of security.
He said the deployed cops would strictly implement a proper ban on hooliganism activities, particularly aerial firing, one-wheelie and eve-teasing, during the eve of New Year night. Acting Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Sardar Asif said a comprehensive security and traffic plan has been finalised by keeping in view the convenience of citizens and commuters.
"We have also identified all major thoroughfares of the city where a heavy contingent of police will be deployed for taking action against the miscreants," he added. As per the security plan, the Police personnel will erect pickets after every underpass of the canal road to punish and arrest the miscreants. The police personnel will also impose heavy fines to the troublemakers, he warned.
He added that the Police officers would be taking stern action against bike mechanics and other persons found involved in making noisy gadgets for the bikers. In addition, officials in the Police department told this scribe that a similar plan has also been finalised against the sellers of fireworks and its users. Responding to a query, the Police official said although there are security treats, but the Police department committed to providing foolproof security to the people.
