Spot basis bids for hard red winter (HRW) wheat on Tuesday in the southern US Plains were steady and dull in the midst of continued Christmas holiday observances, dealers said. The Chicago Board of Trade's K.C. March HRW wheat futures contract at 11:46 am CST (1746 GMT) were down 3-3/4 cents at $4.18-1/2 per bushel, pressured in part by ample domestic and global supplies
Protein premiums on for wheat delivered by railcar to or through Kansas City were unchanged.
