The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed vice chancellors of public sector universities to submit their affidavits with details of affiliation granted to private law colleges by January 20.
A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar took up the matter of law colleges' affiliation with public sector universities. During the proceedings, the Chief Justice asked whether the private law colleges granted affiliation by the public sector universities meet the criteria. The CJP said they believed in supremacy of law and people should choose their own leaders. The CJP observed that they would take up cases on Saturday and Sunday also to put everything on the right track.
