Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif reached Beijing on Monday for the first trilateral consultations among Pakistan, China and Afghanistan for strengthening relations and cooperation. Upon arrival in Beijing, he was received at the airport by Ambassador Masood Khalid and senior Chinese officials.
The first meeting of the Trilateral China-Afghanistan-Pakistan Foreign Minister's Dialogue is part of Chinese President Xi Jinping's initiative for trilateral consultations among Pakistan, China and Afghanistan for strengthening of relations and developing cooperation among the three countries.
In addition to the trilateral meeting among the foreign ministers of the three countries, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif will also have a bilateral meeting with his host Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
