The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), during the current month, has disconnected 55 connections for two months in various localities of the city and cantonment board areas as the consumers were involved in using compressors. General Manager (GM) of SNGPL Rawalpindi Region Muhammad Zahoor talking to APP informed that the SNGPL faced resistance by the violators in some areas but field staff continued operation at Adiala, People Colony, Tench Bhatta, Talhi Muri, Sadiqabad and other areas.
The raiding teams had been directed to take strict action in accordance with the law against the users of compressors, particularly in homes, he said adding, some areas were facing low gas pressure because of use of compressors.
To a question he said, people of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad were facing freezing weather for some days, therefore, SNGPL was facing problem to meet the demand.
The public should cooperate in this situation and refrain from using compressors, he added.
