Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has convened a meeting of the federal cabinet on Tuesday to consider a proposal for conversion of FATA reforms committee into a cabinet-level national implementation committee. Sources stated that according to a Cabinet Division letter, a meeting of the federal cabinet will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. The meeting will consider a proposal of State and Frontier Regions Division about Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Reforms Committee.
The federal cabinet will also consider amendments to the guidelines of Prime Minister's Global SDGs achievement program; and Hajj Policy Plan, 2018. The federal cabinet will also consider a proposal of Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Division regarding approval of Medical Devices Rules, 2017 in lieu of Rules 2015.
The federal cabinet will also grant permission in-principle to sign the revised memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development of Pakistan and the Ministry of Employment and Labor of Korea on the sending and receiving of workers under the employment permit system.
The meeting will also consider Interior Division's proposal for ratification of the preventive detention orders, ex-post facto approval of policy directives issued to PEMRA to off-air and on-air of private TV news channel. Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Division has also submitted a proposal to the federal cabinet meeting with respect to terms and conditions of service of chairman, implementation tribunal for newspaper employees (ITNE).
The federal cabinet will also take up a proposal of Law and Justice Division for appointment as member technical at the Customs appellate tribunal Peshawar Bench, Lahore and Karachi as well as Aviation Division's proposal for resignation of Ali Suleman Habib as director from PIACL Board and Defence Division's proposal for deputation of flag officer as director general (DG) Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA).
Sources further said that the federal cabinet will also be requested for ratification of the decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet, in its meetings held on 01.11.2017, 13.11.2017 and 28.11.2017 and decisions taken by the cabinet committee on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) meetings on 09.11.2017 and 17.11.2017.
