Awami National Party (ANP) Central president, Asfandyar Wali Khan on Friday warned the federal government of strong reaction from ANP over delay in merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Addressing a function on the occasion of death anniversary of the ANP leader Bashir Ahmad Bilour here, Asfandyar said that the federal government was telling a lie repeatedly on FATA merger. He warned the federal government of strong reaction from ANP workers if FATA was not merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Besides, the ANP provincial president, and former chief minister, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, MNAs, MPAs, large number of ANP workers, and leaders were in attendance on the occasion. Worker wore traditional red-colour caps, and shouted slogans in favour of their leadership. The ANP leader called for unity for stopping the bloodshed of Pakhtuns, saying that the ANP always struggle for peace.
The ANP chief paid rich tributes to Bashir Bilour for his services for the party and country. He also criticized the recently announced US policy regarding Afghanistan and said that there would be more bloodshed if the Trump's policy was implemented. He said that the American president's decision regarding Jerusalem would not be accepted, adding that the UN also rejected the US decision with majority vote.
The ANP leader said that the ATM of Imran Khan was out of order. He also took PTI chief Imran Khan to task over what he called his (Imran) double standard about corruption and accountability. When his ATM was disqualified, Imran said wait for the Supreme Court decision on review, he remarked. He said that the PTI chief was silent of corruption charges from PTI's members against chief minister. He asked that why the Ehtesab commission was not working in the province.
Asfandyar Wali demanded the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before the next generation elections. He said the country is passing through critical phase. Fata should be made part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province before the holding of general elections 2018, he said. He said: "It is misfortune of Americans that Donald Trump's of their president.
He said the Pakhtuns had rendered matchless sacrifices for creation of a independent Pakistan. He said the Bacha Khan (Khan Abdul Wali) had fought war for peace. He feared that the situation would get further worst, if the Pakhtuns can not unit now.
Ameer Hoti on the occasion slated the PTI led provincial government for its failure to get Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rightful share in China Pakistan Economic Corridor and National Finance Commission Award. He said the PTI was remained busy in last four and half year in sit-in, and miserably failed about its change agenda in the province.
He said the ANP is only political force, which had raised voice for Pakhtuns rights. He said the party workers had rendered numerous sacrifices for peace and motherland. Hoti said the former ANP-led provincial government had fulfilled all its promises, and hoped that if they would get again chance to form government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and would resolve all issues on priority basis. He also criticized the incumbent provincial government had failed to launch any mega development project in the province.
ANP leader said the green belts on the road were uprooted to launch rapid bus transport project in Peshawar. He added that PTI chairman Imran Khan always called the metro bus as 'jangla' bus in Lahore and Islamabad, but his party government was launching the same project in the provincial capital that double standard politics of the party.
He also criticized federal government for using delaying tactics in merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that Fata people were deprived of all basic rights owing to imposition of FCR. He demanded immediate merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
