Former prime minister and PML-N president Nawaz Sharif on Friday held a meeting with his party leaders at his Raiwind residence and discussed the future political strategy to counter designs of the opponents by taking the people into confidence. Among others, the meeting was attended by Maryam Nawaz, Daniyal Aziz, Talal Chaudhry, Maryam Aurangzeb, Pervaiz Rasheed and Asif Kirmani.
The sources claimed that the meeting discussed political scenario of Pakistan, FATA reforms bill, concerns of opposition parties and other issues pertaining to general elections 2018 and party preparations. The sources said the meeting decided to increase mass mobilization drive. Addressing the meeting, Nawaz Sharif said that he wants to inform the people of Pakistan about the reason behind this punishment.
The sources told that Nawaz instructed the party leaders for to make preparations for a rally in Kot Momin, Sargodha, on December 31. Moreover, after announcing Shahbaz Sharif as the PML-N candidate for premiership after general elections 2018, the name of Maryam Nawaz is being considered as party nominee for the slot of the Punjab Chief Minister.
The sources claimed that Maryam Nawaz will contest 2018 general elections on both, the National and Punjab assembly seats. The way Maryam Nawaz had successfully managed the NA-120 election campaign of her mother Kulsoom Nawaz, has raised her political stature. It is expected that Maryam Nawaz will contest the 2018 general elections from NA-120, NA-123, PP-147 and PP-144. Both Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shahbaz had joined the 27-member Central Executive Committee of the PML-N earlier this month.
