As the Chief Executive of Pak-Arab Pipeline Company Limited, I wish to felicitate the joint venture partners, namely, PARCO, Shell, PSO and Total PARCO Marketing Limited for their financial support and guidance. It is a truly gratifying moment, as we are going to create an asset that will continue to serve the nation for many decades to come.
PAPCO has envisaged this project to transport motor gasoline along with high speed diesel through its existing White Oil Pipeline. In order to meet the increasing demand of motor gasoline, 255,000 metric tons of storage capacity would be built to enhance the storage capacity of Mogas in the country. This initiative would also reduce the cost of transportation less than 50% as compared to tank lorries.
Oil and gas is world's leading issue today. In Pakistan there has been phenomenal progress in the field of oil and gas over the last two decades, I ensure that the successful implementation of this project will represent a significant step towards achieving the Government's dual objectives of streamlining the oil logistics and addressing the environmental concerns associated with alternative modes of oil transportation.
