The Information Technology University (ITU) the Punjab, Pakistan's first focused Research University established in 2012 is holding its first convocation on Sunday December 17, 2017 at 10 am at Burki Road site of the new campus, for the graduation of its first batch of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science students who were enrolled in the Undergraduate Bachelors programme. Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana Governor the Punjab and Pro Vice Chancellor will award medals and shields among the students with distinction. A website for ITU Alumni Reconnect has already been launched.
ITU has now 12 academic programs, close to 900 students and 90 research-focused PhD faculty members. ITU houses Pakistan's largest startup incubator, publishes MIT Technology Review Pakistan and is an academic partner of MIT/Harvard.
ITU was recently awarded 'W' category by the National Computing Accreditation Council and an endorsement from the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
