Despite a fall of two degrees Celsius in temperature in Quetta to minus 8, the Met Office on Saturday forecast a very cold weather for Balochistan in the next 24 hours. Winter forest is expected to strike Punjab including its upper and central parts. A very cold weather is also expected to continue across the northern areas. Fog may engulf plains of Punjab and Upper Sindh during morning hours, while cold and dry weather is likely to prevail else whether in the country.
The most parts of country remained under cold and dry spell over the past 24 hours with temperature drop in Kalat and Kalam to minus 8 degrees Celsius, each, Malamjabba minus 6, Parachinar and Gupis minus 5, each, and Astore minus 4. "Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country," the Met said.
