Chicago Board of Trade corn futures weakened on Thursday, weighed down by declines in the wheat market. Short-covering limited the declines in corn.
Corn futures firmed overnight but turned lower after the benchmark March contract hit resistance at the 10-day moving average. The US Agriculture Department on Thursday morning said that weekly export sales of corn were 876,400 tonnes, near the low end of trade forecasts that ranged from 800,000 to 1.2 million tonnes.
