In the wake of surge in cases of stroke, local and foreign neurologists and interventional radiologists have called for the establishing acute stroke centre in the neuro-radiology department here at Pakistan Institute of Neuro-Sciences (PINS)/Lahore General Hospital (LGH).
The recommendation to this effect was made in the two-day 15th International Acute Stroke Alert Workshop held at the neuro-radiology department of the LGH organised in collaboration with the Asian Australasian Federation of Interventional & Therapeutic Neuroradiology (AAFITN), (Middle East North Africa Stroke and Interventional Neurotherapies Organization (MINA-SINO), Neuro-radiological Society of Pakistan (NRSP) and the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences, Neuroradiology Society, Pakistan.
More than 50 neuroradiologists, neurologists, neurosurgerons and others participated in the workshop. During this two days activity, Professor Ossama Yassin Mansour, Associate Professor of Neurology Neuroradiology, Founder President of MINA-SINO, Dr Ahmad Sobri Muda, Neuorinterventionalist, Radiology Department University Kebangsaan, Malaysia, Professor Anchalee Churojana, Interventional Department of Neuroradiology, Siriraj Hospital Mahidol University Thailand shared their experiences and latest trends in the management of acute stroke patients.
