Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrated with religious zeal across KP, Fata
Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SWA) was celebrated across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata, on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal with religious fervour and enthusiasm. Mahafil-e-Milad and ceremonies were organized by religious, social and academic organizations and processions were taken out in cities, towns and villages. Stringent security measures were being made to ensure the protection for processions in provincial capital Peshawar, as a large number of police personnel were deployed to provide security at Mosques and around processions.
Like previous years, houses, shops, private and government buildings, mosques, shrines and places of worship were illuminated and decorated with flags and buntings on this auspicious occasion. Medical camps were set up to facilitate the participants of the processions. Rescue 1122, Bomb Disposal Squad, Fire Brigade, Civil Defence and police personnel remained alert to deal with any untoward incident.
Special dishes were prepared at homes and been distributed among neighbours, relatives and needy people. Children also came out in large number to join their elders to celebrate the day. Religious scholars made speeches to highlight different aspects of the life of Prophet Muhammad (SWA). People of Hazara division also celebrated the sacred day with great enthusiasm in all six districts. Markets and buildings of Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra and Havelian city and even the small towns were decorated with lights, flags and banners to observe the birthday of Holy Prophet (SWA).
In Mardan, Eid Milad-un-Nabi was celebrated with the usual zeal and fervour. A long procession was held in Shako Pul area. It crossed its designated routes before concluding at Kachehri Chowk. Mosques and other buildings were decorated in the area and the processions were followed by the distribution of food and sweets. In Pabbi, the procession was held at Daag Ismail Khel. A large number of people recited naats and held banners to show their reverence for the Prophet (SWA).
The procession ended at Pabbi Bazaar after crossing different routes. Meanwhile, in Charsadda, different religious parties and organizations arranged Quran Khwani and mehfil milad sharif In Lakki Marwat, the procession concluded amid tight security. The procession started from Jamia Masjid Baghban, passing through the routes of Mela Mandi Bazaar and Zargaran Bazaar and ended at Meena Khel Bazaar.
Also, 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal processions were taken out in the three districts of Haripur, Abbottabad, and Mansehra. The main procession was joined by smaller ones. One of them started from Madni Masjid, Karimpura and the participants went back after the procession. They marched through designated routes in the city and some processions were also taken out in Havelian and Sultanpur and these joined the main procession.
In Mansehra, the main procession started from Jamia Masjid Noor Mufti Abad and culminated on College Road. Milad processions were also taken out in Oghi, Balakot, Shinkiari, Garhi Habibullah and Kaghan. Like elsewhere in the country Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SWA) observed with religious zeal and fervour in Landi Kotal Khyber Agency on Friday. Prior to it, the tribesmen decorated homes, mosques and shrines with lights to and special food items were prepared to mark the birth anniversary of the Prophet (SWA).
The main piece of the celebration was the procession took out from the shrine of Haji Gul saib, Piro Khel and was participated by hundreds of thousands of local tribal. They were holding green flags and were reciting Naat while praising the Prophet and ended in Jamia Azizia, Sultan Khel, and Khyber. Extra security measures were adopted by the administration and additional Khasadar and Levies troops were deployed for the security of the procession.
