Condemning the terrorists attack on agriculture institute in Peshawar, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has demanded the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) with its true letter and spirit to complete wipeout scourge of terrorism across the country.
Speaking at a news conference at press club here on Saturday, PPP provincial president, Humayun Khan said that his party had supported the NAP despite its reservations on some points. He said that it was dire need of hour to implement all clauses of the National Action Plan to complete eradicate terrorism and establish everlasting peace in the country. He said the terrorists attack on Directorate of Agriculture Peshawar was highly deplorable in which nine people killed, including police personnels and left many injured.
PPP leader criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan over his statement after the terrorists attack a day ago. He praised the law enforcement agencies for rendering matchless sacrifices to establish sustainable peace in the country. Flanked by PPP central leader and former federal minister, Arbab Alamgir Khan, provincial vice president, Syed Ayub Shah, Member Central Executive Committee, Azam Khan, Ziaullah Afridi, president women wing, Nighat Orakzai, and other local activists, Humayun said that the party central leadership had decided to organise a mega public rally in connection with golden jubilee celebrations of the party.
He said the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had so far issued no-objection certificate for holding the huge power show at Parade ground in Islamabad on December 5. However, he expressed serious reservations on conditions of the Islamabad authorities for organizing the mega event. He strongly condemned them, and called as unwise act of the CDA. He claimed said PPP is a democratic party, which had brought politics from drawing room to general public. PPP provincial president informed that workers caravan will be left from Peshawar toll plaza around 9:00 am, while worker processions from Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi Malakand division and other parts of the province, will also join in different spots near Swabi, Buhran and Charsadda interchanges at motorway. He claimed PPP leadership is the only hope for the masses, which they are considered to pull the country current crisis situation.
Replying a question about declining popularity graph and poor performance in the recent NA-4, by-poll in Peshawar, the party provincial president clarified that the PPP position had improved from six to fourth during by-election on NA-4, Peshawar-IV. He added his party candidate had gained 13,300 votes against the 12,000 votes during last general elections. While, he said PTI votes had decreased at 47,000 from 55,000, showing almost lost of more than 8,000 ballots in the by-poll as compared to last general election.
