Jhagra for expediting pace of Fata reforms

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has directed the concerned authorities of FATA Secretariat to accelerate the pace of the implementation of FATA reforms in light of the steps taken by the government in this regard. He issued these directives while presiding over a meeting regarding FATA reforms here in Governor's House on Saturday. Besides, Chairman FATA Reforms Committee, Sartaj Aziz, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) FATA, Sikandar Qayyum, Principal Secretary to Governor, Munir Azam and Secretary Planning & Development FATA, Zubair Qureshi attended the meeting.
The meeting was briefed in detail regarding progress made on FATA reforms so far and matters relating to its implementation. During the meeting proposals for streamlining, socio-economic development and proposals for bringing FATA at par with other developed areas of the country were also presented.
Talking to the participants of the meeting, the Governor said that all available resources are being utilized for the development and streamlining of FATA. He further said that solid steps are being taken for socio-economic development of FATA ad provision of basic amenities of life to tribesmen. He further said that the implementation of FATA reforms will put tribal region on the track of progress and development.
