Karachiites celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi with religious fervour

Thousands of devotees celebrated the Eid Milad-un-Nabi with zeal and fervour across the city amid foolproof security as the cellular network remained suspended. Rallies and processions were taken out in various parts of the city, where the religious scholars addressed. The main procession was brought out on M A Jinnah Road from New Memon Masjid that was culminated at Nishtar Park that was said to be the biggest congregation in the city to mark the celebrations of the day.
Special camps were set up on roadsides to offer beverages, food and confectionary items to the marchers during the Milad rallies. Participants were lifting green flags and chanted religious poems to pay homage to Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), the Prophet of Islam and humanity. Children wearing greens costumes were also seen along with their parents to observe the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. On small and big trucks, loud speakers were fixed to play the naat. The participants also offered prayers on roads.
Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and police were alert for the security of the participants across the city but M A Jinnah Road was given a preference. Mobile phones were placed offline by the PTA on the Sindh government's request keeping in view the terror threats.
The devotees vowed to protect the blasphemy law at any cost, as religious scholars urged the followers to follow the teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The religious Imams spoke on various aspects of the sacred life of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). They also pledged to defend Islam and the sanctity of Holy Prophet (PBUH).
