United States Department of Commerce extended complete support for promotion of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in Pakistan while closely working with Intellectual Property Organization (IPO-Pakistan) and expressed the hope that the closer cooperation in the field of IPRs would further improve Pakistan's international rankings. While welcoming the Pakistan delegation, Peter B. Davidson, General Counsel, US Department of Commerce, shared important aspects of Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) initiative of USA and how it could help IPO-Pakistan.
Pakistan delegation comprising Dr Nazim Latif, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce; Muhammad Naseer, Executive Director, IPO-Pakistan and Muhammad Aftab Khan, Registrar Trademarks is on an official visit to USA. Dr Nazim Latif, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce shared steps taken by the Government of Pakistan in recent years to promote IPRs culture. Ali Tahir, Pakistan Trade Minister to Washington requested the US General Counsel for support to remove Pakistan from US watch list as Pakistan has already been removed from priority watch list.--PR
