Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) in collaboration with World Bank has initiated countrywide consultative sessions on Third Party Access Rules 2012, Network Code and Tariff Regime for gas sector reforms. In this connection, the first session was held at Peshawar on Thursday, says a press release issued here. A large number of stakeholders, including representatives from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Development Company Limited and KP Chamber of Commerce and Industry, parliamentarians, lawyers and general consumers/public, attended the session.
According to OGRA official, the World Bank consultant gave a detailed presentation on the TPA Rules and Network Code whereas Misbah Yaqub, Executive Director OGRA gave presentation on Tariff Regime. At the end of the presentations, interventions were made by the stakeholders raising a number of queries which were noted.
The session was chaired by chairperson OGRA, accompanied by member finance, member oil and senior management of the authority. While concluding the session, chairperson OGRA Uzma Adil Khan said, "We have initiated these consultative sessions for the input of all stakeholders which include the provinces, Sui companies, lawmakers and consumers. The Authority will genuinely look into valid arguments and will address the concerns, if any." The consultative sessions will also be held in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Islamabad.
