Sufi Mela held at Sindh university

The Institute of Art & Design of the University of Sindh has arranged a Sufi mela in collaboration with Auqaf Department, Government of Sindh. The occasion was presided over by Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat and Munawar Ali Mahesar, Chief Administrator, Auqaf Department & Secretary Board of Revenue Sindh was the chief guest of the event.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat said Pakistan generally and particularly Sindh are the land of saint. The saints have given message of peace and love with motherland; he further said Sufism rejects all kind of extremism and terrorism. We all Pakistani are peace lover. There is a strong strength in Sufism and Tasawuf. We can face to the enemies of peace and harmony. Dr Burfat congratulated to the teams of Auqaf Department and Institute of Arts & Design, University of Sindh for organizing a successful event.
The students, teachers, officers and all other stakeholders love to the Alma matter and they are committed and responsible to their duties and institutions. We, all are, trying to improve standard and dignity of our Alma matter. At the event, Munawar Ali Mahesar, Chief Administrator Auqaf while appreciating the efforts of the Vice-Chancellor and his team for encouraging such type of event, where all seven faqeers of saints performed Sufi song. He further added that the objective of the event is to promote the message of Sufism and peace to new generation. He expressed his satisfaction for arranging such unique event at the university.
He said that a large number of male, female and children proved that they are lover of peace and Sufism. On this occasion, faqeers sung poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, Sachal Sarmsat, Qadir Bux Bedil, Shah Inayat Shaheed and other sufi poets. Earlier, the Director, Institute of Art & Design Naimatullah Khilji highlighted the objectives of the celebration of Sufi mela.
