As temperature continues to plunge in the country, the Met Office on Tuesday asked the farmers to complete wheat cultivation at earliest to help crop attain a full soil dampness left by recent rains. It said that the recent rains left dampness into soil, which will be beneficial for the Rabi crops. It asked the farmers to finish up wheat cultivation at first to help attain a full yield.
Temperature in Skardu fell to minus 4 degrees Celsius, Kalam minus 3, Kalat, Gilgit, Quetta, Hunza, Astore and Gupis minus two over the past 24 hours. Shallow fog is likely to grip plains of Punjab and Upper Sindh in morning hours in the next 24 hours. However, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country over the period with a light rain-thunderstorm with light snowfall over the hills is expected at a few places in Malakand, Hazara division, Upper FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan.
