Bahria University holds first International conference on SMEs
Chief Executive Officer of Habib Metropolitan Bank Sirajuddin Aziz, said that role of the SMEs are playing a vital role in Pakistan economy and will uplift further for a sustainable development of Pakistan especially in view of CPEC agreement with China.
He was speaking as a chief guest in the closing ceremony of 1st International Conference on SMEs in Bahria University Karachi Campus. Earlier, Professor Dr. Mutaghees-ur-Rehman chair conference and HoD department of Management Sciences Bahria University Karachi highlighted the activities performed during the conference. He also acknowledged and thank distinguish foreign delegates for their active engagement during the conference.
The proposed conference served the purpose of a forum for the researchers and business practitioners where they were able to discuss the researched based information on the prospects and challenges associated with the SMEs' operations in Pakistan and in other countries of the world. During the two-day conference, 45 papers on the six sub themes of SMEs were presented. Besides two thematic symposiums were held which were moderated by Dr. Syed Zahoor Hassan, the Former Vice Chancellor of LUMS and Dr. Shahid Qureshi, Director ECD, IBA. Professors, and research scholars from all over Pakistan and abroad attended and participated in various capacities. Muneer Kamal, Chairman Stock Exchange was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony. In the end Chief Guest distributed the souvenirs to foreign delegates.-PR
