Karachi peace Traders for close coordination with LEAs

Traders have sought a close coordination with the law enforcing agencies to help keep the existing state of peace across the city's markets. Praising the Sindh Police and Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) for their untiring efforts to defeat target killers and extortionists and restore peace in the metropolis after years of unrest, traders expressed hope the law enforcers would soon bring down the street crimes.
At a convention, held under the aegis of All Pakistan Confectionary Association and Nanakwara Meat Merchant Association, DIGP South, Azad Khan assured the businessmen that police efforts would continue to overcome menace of street crimes, as well. He told them that the police department had evolved a plan to maintain peace for a long term.
He also claimed that the police department has been depoliticized and working without any political influence. "The police are now more encouraged and free from all external pressures," he said, adding that the police would soon stem the growing street crimes. He said that police personnel were ready to face all challenges.
Chairman of All Karachi Tajir Ittehad, Atiq Mir, also expressed hope the police would play its role to maintain order in the city. He also supported the law enforcers in their efforts against the anti-social elements. He was satisfied over stable peace in the metropolis and hoped it would spur economic activities.
The Second Wing Commander of the 61st Wing of Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), Major Shabbir informed the traders about a plan to perpetuate the peace and stability across the city. He said that the Rangers' efforts against crimes and terrorism would be seen through growing peace.
