A meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) will take up today (Friday) the matter pertaining to access to real-time production data of oil and gas from the well-heads and natural gas consumption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The CCI meeting has been convened by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi with 8 points agenda items for consideration.
The meeting to be attended by chief ministers will be submitted recommendations of the Inter-Provincial Coordination Committee (IPCC) and sub committee of the CCI on matters pertaining to: (i) higher education and other similar bodies in post-18th Amendment scenario; (ii) import of liquefied natural gas (LNG); (iii) supply of gas to localities/villages within five kilometers radius of gas producing fields; (iv) implementation of Article 154 of the Constitution of Pakistan; (v) endorsement of policy statement on gas sector reforms; (iv) and implementation on CCI decision on net hydel profit (NHP) - report of sub-committee of CCI on payment of NHP to KP and Punjab.
The meeting will also take up a proposal of the Ministry of Finance regarding establishment of fiscal coordination committee and post devolution status of Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution and Workers Welfare Fund of Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Rights Development (HRD).
The CCI will also consider a proposal of Ministry of Energy regarding implementation of and amendments to Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Policy 2012 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa''s proposal of award of petroleum rights to federal and provincial holding companies without competitive bidding, real time electricity production in the country, usage by Discos, and duration of load-shedding on feeders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. National Water Policy presented by Ministry of Water Resources is also on the agenda.
