Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al-Malkiy called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Saturday and discussed matters of mutual interest, promotion of ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and enhancement of cooperation in various fields. Talking to the Ambassador, Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan and Saudi Arab are tied in religious, historic and culture relationships, and the people of both countries have close hearty and spiritual links.
"Saudi Arab has always extended diplomatic support to Pakistan and it has extended cooperation for social development and promotion of industry and trade in Pakistan. Saudi Arabia has always supported Pakistan wholeheartedly in testing times," he added.
The Chief Minister said that Pakistan gives special significance to ties with Saudi Arab, and brotherly relationship between both the countries is strengthening with the passage of time. "Trade and industrial links between Pakistan and Saudi Arab are cementing further. The government is making efforts to bring about improvement in every field of life and reasonable resources are being spent for this purpose. The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia praised the measures taken by the Punjab government for improvement in social sector.
