Karachi Mayor reviews development works

Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar paid a detailed visit to different areas of F B Area on Saturday during which he inspected the construction of road from People's Chowrangi to Water Pump and lying of sewerage line. He was accompanied by the vice chairman of DMC Central Shakir Ali, chairman of Works committee Hassan Naqvi, parks committee chairman Khurram Farhan, union council chairmen and other local government representatives and senior KMC officers on this occasion.
Mayor Karachi while talking to media representatives during this visit said the budget allocation for Karachi will be used for people of Karachi and the utilizations of funds will be monitored by me and the local government representatives at the district level so that these funds could be spent in a transparent and efficient manner.
He said the campaign against encroachments was underway in the city and we will not tolerate any obstacle or hurdle in this connection. He said the pavements were for the pedestrians and therefore I would say to the shopkeepers, hotels and restaurants owners to keep inside their premises and if they have established encroachments then remove it themselves to avoid any loss. He said the local government representatives were ensuring speedy development works in the city and will be succeeded in their endeavors.
Mayor Karachi during his visit also reviewed the sewerage line being installed in the F B Area. He said I would also request the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board to take necessary measures to minimize the water and sewerage problems of the citizens in different areas of Karachi. He said the carpeting and patch working of roads was also underway with the repairing and maintenance of sewerage lines and this would be continue in all areas of the city.
