The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan has re-informed local exporters to countries of the European Union and Switzerland and Norway to get themselves registered with the EU's REX (Registered Exporters) System by December 31. In a detailed statement the export promotion authority stated that in accordance with EU regulations for GSP beneficiary countries, Pakistan is required to switch completely to the REX System for origin certification. Hence, all the current as well as potential exporters are re-informed to switch to the REX System for origin certification by the abode date.
Accordingly, issuance of certificate of origin by the TDAP for the European Union's GSP schemes, Switzerland and Norway will cease to benefit from the system after the date and subsequently only REX-registered exporters will be able to issue Statements on Origin (SOO) themselves in respect of their shipments to these countries. The TDAP has advised local exporters to get registered to the system by completing requisite formalities with the TDAP as soon as possible.
