As the up-country and Balochistan province are in the grip of severe cold the Met Office has said that a shallow westerly wave is still affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 hours. Met Office weather forecast for today:
Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. More rain thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi divisions Islamabad, upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Hailstorm is also expected at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Hazara divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir during the period.

Rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills occurred at isolated places in Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, and Lahore divisions, upper FATA, Islamabad and Kashmir. Weather remained cold and dry in other parts of the country.
