North Waziristan win cricket trophy in FATA Inter-School Games

North Waziristan Agency stunned Mohmand Agency by 85 runs and won the trophy of the cricket event part of the ongoing FATA Inter-School Games being played on various venues all across Khyber Agency. Batting first North Waziristan Agency scored 146 runs with Ahmad hammered a cracking 61 runs including nine boundaries and two sixes and in reply Mohmand Agency bowled out for 58 runs.
For North Waziristan Agency Ijaz claimed four wickets. In the Volleyball semi-final Mohmand Agency beat North Waziristan Agency by 3-0, the score was 25-23, 25-20 and 25-21. In the hockey semi-final Khyber Agency beat Bajaur Agency by 6-0 and moved to the final. In the basketball semi-final FR Kohat beat Kurram Agency by 27-15.
In the football event Khyber Agency beat FR Tank by 6-1, FR Kohat beat Orakzai Agency by 2-1, South Waziristan Agency beat North Waziristan Agency by 2-0. In the athletic event Khyber Agency secured 40 points, followed by North Waziristan Agency with 27 points and Kurram Agency got third position with 24 points. In the cricket event played at Jamrud Cricket Stadium, FR Bannu defeated FR Tank by 2 runs in a dramatically ended match. FR Bannu skipper won the toss and elected to bat first by setting up 130 runs with Wahid hammered 23 runs, Imran struck 33 runs and Ishaq made 17 runs. Tufail Khan, Waris and Shehzad took two wickets each while Yousaf and Tahir got one wicket each.
In reply to 130 runs target, FR Tanked bundled out for 128 runs. Israr Ullah made 29 runs, Javed Ali and Shams scored 22 runs each while Abdullah Khan made 16 runs, none of the other batsmen could cross the double figures. Ishaq was the most successful bowler who grabbed three wickets, Imran and Shakir got two wickets each while Afnan and Zeeshan got one wicket each.
In the athletic event Javelin throw Muhammad Asim Khyber, Hamarun Khan FR Koaht, Abdul Wahab Khyber got first, second and third position. In the Discus throw Noor Alam Khyber got gold medal, followed by Nouman FR Kohat and Abdul Rauf Khurram Agency. In the shot put shot put Asim Khyber got first position, followed by Bashir Mohmand, Abdul Khanan Kurram.
In the 100m Saboor NWA, Shah Rukh FR Kohat and Ahmad Ayaz NWA got gold medal, silver medal and bronze medals, in the 200m Sabor Khan NWA got gold medal, followed by Zubair Khan Khyber and Mudassir Kurram Agency. In the 400m Bahar Ali of Kurram won gold medal, followed by Usman of Khyber and Zia Ullah of Mohmad while the 4X100m relay North Waziristan Agency won gold medal, Khyber took silver medal and FR Peshawar remained at third with bronze medal.
