Pakistan-China bus service begins maiden journey after two-day delay
The new Pak-China passenger bus service began its inaugural 36-hour long trip from Lahore to Kashgar late Monday night.
The bus left for Kashgar, located in Chinese province Xinjiang, from Lahore. The bus service between China and Pakistan is a new initiative under CPEC to connect the two neighbors via roads. This project will further strengthen relations between the two countries and will also be a boon for the economy.
This bus will have five stopovers before crossing into China at Khunjerab. The fare from Lahore to Kashgar is Rs 13,000, while ticket for a two-way journey is Rs 23,000. In order to purchase tickets, a valid visa and an national identify card is required. Passengers are allowed to carry 20kg of luggage.
The availability of this bus from Lahore will be Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. In Kashgar, this service will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
