Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch has expressed deep grief over the murder of twenty people over the issue of custodianship of a shrine in a Sargodha village. He said the bloodletting in the name of religion and for personal interest was a slur on the face of the country. He was talking to the media at the 'Walima' of the son of an ex-MNA Javed Iqbal Cheema.
Liaqat Baloch said that the Chairman of the Ulema, Mashaikh Rabita Committee, and custodian of the shrine of Khwaja Farid, Kot Mithan, and Khwaja Moeenud Din Koreja would thoroughly examine the situation in this respect and take necessary reforms with the cooperation of the high ups at prominent shrines in the country. However, he said, if the government and the district administration had taken prompt steps, the gruesome incident would not have occurred.
The JI Secretary General further said that the total shut down in Held Kashmir on Indian Premier Modi's visit there had once again revealed the Kashmiris hatred for India. He said that Modi's outburst in Held Kashmir against Pakistan was nothing except spitting his venom. He again urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to declare a clear policy on Kashmir and said that nothing good could be expected from the Indian rulers.
Liaqat Baloch said that the citizens of Karachi had been awakened by the strong protest of the JI on the people's problems in the mega city. The JI workers had demonstrated great valour. He said the JI would continue its efforts for national security and for the solution of the problems of the citizens.
