The Acting Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Syed Akhtar Ali Shah has said that it was the prime responsibility of the state to provide peace and ensure serenity in the society where every citizen could freely enjoy basic sights particularly protection of life and honour. This, he said, while addressing a workshop "Advocacy for peace" as a chief guest held at a local hotel Peshawar on Wednesday.
The workshop arranged by Faith Friends was largely attended by religious scholars and representatives of different walk of life. Former provincial minister Qari Roohullah Madni, Bishop Peshawar Peters Hamphery Sarfaraz and Dr Hafiz Abdul Ghafoor also addressed on the occasion. The Acting IGP informed that Pakistan has to achieve progress in comity of nation and it was the need of the hour that our manpower should be equipped with best qualities and equal opportunity of education should be provided to them.
