Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has convened a meeting of the Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet today (Tuesday) to consider a proposal of export of sugar. Source said that the finance minister has convened meeting of the ECC with six agenda and some proposals may be presented before the participants during the meeting.
The ECC would consider Public Sector Procurement of Wheat Crop, 2016-17 as well as allocation of gas from Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) Kandhkot field and procedure for sampling and testing of imported petroleum products and establishment of 300MW coal power plant at Gwadar. The meeting, sources added would also consider a proposal of Privatisation Commission for approval of month salary for the employees of Pakistan Steel Mills Corporation (PSMC). Sources added that the meeting would be requested to approve the salary for PSMC employees for the month of December, 2016. They added that a meeting of the ECC held in February 2017 had approved two months salary (October-November, 2015) for the PSMC employees.
