Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief, Senator Siraj-ul-Haq has presented himself and his party ministers and members of assemblies for accountability on all forums.
Addressing a public meeting in Town Committee Ground, Uthmanzai, district Charsadda on Sunday he expressed the hope that the apex court will give pro-people verdict against corruption case soon otherwise it would be a tragedy if court did not dispense justice and then people would take to streets for the decision.
He accused the corrupt ruling elite for white collar crime, depriving the nation of its ideology and dividing them on the basis of ethnicity and religious beliefs. He said that the same corrupt ruling elite are a major obstacle in development of the country. He said that neither democracy nor politics, but money reigns supreme while dishonest and corrupt mafia has grabbed the reigns of power on the basis of their ill-gotten wealth..
Senator Siraj-ul-Haq said that they had started movement against corruption; saying they are not demanding the accountability of any particular individual or family but of all corrupt politicians and feudal lords.
He said that he wanted to tell Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that they will not allow turning Pakistan into a liberal state. He said that the foundation of Pakistan was laid on the blood of martyrs, ulema and sacrifices of mothers, who had not given sacrifices for secularism, but for Islam.
