Pakistan's overall telecom imports declined by five percent to $882.613 million in July-February 2017, official figures say. Telecom imports fall stands at $42.367 million in July-February 2017 from $924.980 million in July-February 2016, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows. In February 2017, telecom imports slumped to $101.403 million from $125.724 million in February 2016, down by 19.34 percent or $24.321 million.
Import of mobile phones reduced to $459.377 million in February 2017 from $497.189 million in February 2016, lower by eight percent or $37.812 million. The country imported $60.026 million of handsets in February 2017 as compared to their import of $63.913 million in February 2016, less by over six percent or $3.887 million.
