The Met Office on Monday forecast rain, thunderstorm and gusty winds for over upper parts of the country in the next two days. It said that a system is expected to enter Pakistan on Tuesday to influence the weather system to unleash rain and thunderstorm at scattered places in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Tuesday and Wednesday.
It forecast snowfall for high altitude mountains in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Wednesday. It said that rain and thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Gujranwala Divisions besides Islamabad on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"On March 23, mainly partly cloudy with chances of light rain at morning is expected in Islamabad/Rawalpindi and dry weather with clear sky conditions is expected in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta cities," the Met Office said. It said that cloudy weather conditions are likely to prevail in the most upper and central parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, Malakand Divisions and FATA. It said that temperature in Astore was zero degrees Celsius, Kalam, Gupis, Hunza, and Malamjabba one, each.
