Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has ordered to bring back a woman namely Robina and her minor child languishing in a jail in Indian occupied Kashmir over the past five years. Robina went to India for her medical treatment along with her husband and four-month-old baby girl in 2012. After sometime her husband betrayed her and left with all the money and necessary documents including passports.
Finding the woman and her minor girl helpless, people gave them money and sent them to the Jammu Kashmir border crossing. Indian authorities took the women and long with her minor child in to custody due to lack of necessary documents. Following media reports, Interior Minister took notice of the incident and ordered to obtain necessary information regarding the women in order to verify her nationality.
The lawyer met the woman in jail in 2014 and since that time he has been making efforts for her repatriation. The interior minister directed the Pakistan High Commission to obtain access to women to verify her nationality after the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) failed to verify her nationality on the basis of available information. The Interior Minister ordered to bring the women and her child back to Pakistan after the high commission failed to obtain her necessary information despite the passage of two months.-PR
